It is with great sadness that we heard of the passing Don Abel in April 2025. With the sadness came also feelings of deep gratitude towards his life achievements, artistic output and kind soul. He was recently featured among “fellow-Amazonians” in the fantastic show Amazonia (Paris and Bonn) and was also honoured with a 2026 solo-exhibition in MASP, where extensive research culminated in a bulky catalogue that shows at least 40 paintings of Don Abel that went via my hands.
